Distressed Island

The distressed look here posed an interesting 3D modelling/texturing technical challenge, in that I didn't want to have to create a custom texture map for every cabinet to achieve the distressed look. I was able to take advantage of the fact that i model the furniture exactly as built (so the door consists of 5 elements - 4 rails and panel, rather than being modelled from one element). This allowed me to create a blend texture between the wood finish and the distressed painted finish, then apply it as a face map to the model. No custom textures required!
